Arrival Path
Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport lies about seventy five to one hundred kilometres away, roughly one and a half hours by car depending on traffic. Most visitors drive or take a bus.
Buses from Mexico City's Tapo or Taxqueña terminals serve Tlayacapan and nearby Cuautla and Oaxtepec. The journey takes about one and a half to two hours.
By car, the route follows the Mexico to Cuautla toll highway, exiting near Tlayacapan. Roads are good, but weekend traffic leaving the capital can be heavy on Friday evenings and returning on Sunday afternoons.
Taxis and local colectivos connect Tlayacapan with Tepoztlán, Oaxtepec and Cuautla. Arranging a taxi through the inn is convenient for day trips.
Cuernavaca, about twenty six kilometres away, offers museums, the Palacio de Cortés and gardens, reachable in around forty minutes.
Tequesquitengo, around fifty kilometres south, is popular for water sports on its lake.
Hiking trails around the cliffs of Tlayacapan are accessible directly from the village.
